1988 Chevy K5 blazer – Clint C.

Ive wanted a k5 sense I was a kid and my grandfather’s ’79 GMC Jimmy sat beside the garage rotting away, too far gone to restore. Then one day a friend of me and my dad had a ’88 k5 blazer already lifted and in really good shape it was a southern truck. I bought it and slowly have been restoring and rebuilding which includes a lil body work and painting hot rod black. Putting new trim and a 72 tailgate bezel. It had a 350 turbo transmission swap after I blew up my 700r4. I did top end seals on the motor, and some interior work. I’m planning on replacing the stock matching numbers engine with a 5.3L LS. Don’t worry I’m keeping the motor, I even had a guy at one of my old jobs walk up to me and asked if I wanted a set of original KC DAYLIGHTER red and white and smiley face covers and an old light rack. I bought all of it off him cut it down and fitted it on my blazer with lights and it looks amazing. The nickname REAPER actually came from a buddy of mine when I came rolling in he looked at me and said that truck looks like the grim reaper rolling up. I love my k5 I’ve had a lot of good memories of me and my dad working on it and a lot of times where that truck has gotten me outta sticky situations.
