1969 Chevrolet C10 – Larry A.

GENERAL and HISTORY- Chevrolet’s Custom Sport Truck (CST) was at the top of the line back in the day. This truck came out of the North Central Montana cattle ranch and wheat farm country. It has obviously had a series of owners who kept it up and with originality in mind. The current mileage is 59,000, which may be correct as I have only put 400 miles on during my fourteen-year watch.

EXTERIOR – While nice enough to show at the time, my body shop and I completely dissembled the body, repaired where necessary, and repainted outside and inside. The bumpers, grill and most of the garnish on the exterior was replaced with new. The walnut wood in the bed came from my family farm in Kentucky and was from a tree sawn by my grandfather at his mill in the 1940s. Each time I look at that beautiful wood I think fondly of the time I had with him.

MECHANICAL – Original big block 396, turbo 400 transmission, and air Conditioning. Happiness is arriving at a car show in the hot summer months with the windows rolled up enjoying my AC. The brakes, which are disk up front, were completely rebuilt.

INTERIOR – All gauges, to include the original tachometer work as they should. The only interior upgrade I did was a Classic Sound AM/FM cassette. The original AM radio will go with the truck if ever I decide to part with the truck. The seat was recovered with the era correct pattern material and the carpet is new. There was no rust in the floors. The interior of this truck is complete and like a time capsule.

SUMMARY – This little sixty-nine is my favorite to show and is always competitive.
