1972 Chevrolet C1500 – Christopher B.

We were building what we thought was a 1968 El Camino, but ended up being a 1967. The body was trash but we had the frame powder coated, the suspension purchased and ready to go. When we didn’t get the title, we had to reroute. We were already building a GM small block for it. Luckily where we were storing the EC, there was a 1972 GMC Super Custom just sitting there. My daughter was maybe 11 at the time and was drawn to the truck. I talked to the owner and knew I was going to get the “I don’t want to sell it price” but he was reasonable and I bought the truck. Fast forward to now, daughter is almost 17 and I have been buying parts over the years, stock piling if you will. I find a hot rod builder that is semi-local. I use the renown paint and body shop of South Texas. We are nearing completion of this 100% rotisserie build. Every nut and bolt, frame powder coated and fresh everything. All original glass except windshield. Original bed sides with the tool box. Not just rare for 1/2 ton, unheard of. Truck was built in 11/72 so there are 1973 GM trucks older than this thing! Paint and Body was able to save original sticker inside of glove box door and it is loaded. This truck will look original but boast 550/550 383 stroker, 700r4 and custom built 9′ rear with 3.73:1 posi trac. No stone was unturned on this build.

My daughter not only agreed with me but insisted that LMC Truck should have her truck on the cover when completed. We have looked at these catalogs a lot over the past 7 years. It will be a museum quality show truck soon. We would love for you guys from LMC to come down and take photos, inspect it and and sit in it. It will not disappoint!

Thank ya’ll for having what we need when we need it. We have used at least a dozen total companies for parts. When classic has it on backorder, we just buy the individual pieces from LMC!
