1985 Dodge W350 – Stephen T.

The truck started its life as an Air Force truck in Nevada. After it retired from the Air Force It was used by a fire department in Lincoln County, Nevada. It was sold at a government auction and made its way to California where I bought it from the man that decided that it was going to be too much work. My sons and I took it completely apart and had the truck water sandblasted to bare metal. While working on the body, much to my wife’s displeasure, I bought 2 more trucks to get the parts I needed to complete this truck. This truck is special for several reasons, 1985 was the last year of the double cab, and the wooden-floored bed, also this truck is one of only a handful of government trucks that came with air conditioning. Since the truck spent its first 33 years in Nevada it had no rust! By the same logic, the trucks rubber was totally sun rotted. With LMC I was able to get almost everything I needed to bring this truck back to life. All new window rubbers and gaskets, wood for the bed just to name a few. I was able to build this truck in 7 months, partially because I selected one vendor for my parts rather than search the entire internet and because of my kid’s help and a somewhat understanding wife. I am sure that I would not be finished with this truck if it were not for the fine products in the LMC catalog. I have taken this truck to 2 car shows so far and it draws quite a crowd. Thanks LMC![lmc_story_gallery]
