1983 Ford F250 – David H.
After owning a new model Dodge Charger for a few years and having a special love for American cars it was time for an Oldtimer. It came naturally to choose for a truck and the “Bullnose” model from Ford was very appealing to me. Since it is not easy to come by here in The nEtherlands, or for that matter in Europe, I first tried to import one from the US. With all the restrictions and hassle that comes with it this became a dream instead of an idea. Then suddenly I saw an ad of a 1983 Ford F250 XLT about 1.5 hours from my hometown. After taking the trip twice we the owner and me came to a deal and I drove home, owning a 1983 F250, with a big smile on my face.
As every oldtimer there are things to fix and i am p;lanning to do most of the work myself. Only the really challenging mechanical things I will call the help of a garage. Until now I had only the Intake manifold gasket replaced by a garage and did all the other stuff myself.
The idea is to restore the truck to original as much as possible but also leave a little room for some upgrades.
LMC has been very helpful until now and I just recieved a lot of parts that will keep me busy for the next few weeks 🙂
Lucklily there are a few shops that also have a lot of genuine parts for my truck overhere in The Netherlands. But a shop like LMC there is not overhere in Europe. So I will be ordering more parts for sure in the future 🙂
