1993 Dodge Dakota – Eric L.

I used to see this 1993 Dakota cruising Oshawa all the time. It was owned by D/T Automotive. The original owner specifically wanted the LE model, with the 318 c.i. engine, 8ft. box and single cab. It was sold new by a dealer in Lindsay, Ontario. Fast forward to 2013, the truck was used as a shop truck, and then sat idle until 2023.

I bought the truck in August of 2023 from the stepson of the original owner for $1500. The truck required major cleaning to remove all the oil, debris and junk from its previous life. I thought that the interior was black, but in fact it is blue. It was that grimy.

I started making improvements such as installing Flowtech headers, ’97 sport rims, new tires, Mopar Performance valve covers, Mr. Gasket air cleaner and a Grant GTS steering wheel. I removed the original camper shell and replaced it with a Tonneau cover. My latest project was replacing the hood and installing a Direct Connection Sixpack scoop and hood pins. The rusted out original rear bumper was replaced with a Fab Shop roll pan.

I enjoy cruising whenever I have the chance and taking it to local car shows. I frequently talk to people who have many stories about their Dakotas.

Thanks for letting me share my story,

Eric L.
