1999 Dodge Ram 1500 – Bobby E.

In 1999 my father retired. Having never had a true new vehicle, he went to the Dodge dealer for 2 or 3 days. He kept going back until he got exactly what he wanted. A brand new, fire red, Ram Laramie. The back end was dropped level with the front. Truck bed cap, Am/Fm cassette radio, AC, cruise control and custom exhaust. He then took it and added a single black racing stripe, spray in bed liner and custom wheels. It was the pride of his life. He said it was the last new thing he would ever buy. He drove every day and took many vacation trips all over the US. He managed to make it to all 48 lower states in that truck. Great adventures and tons of memories. When he passed away, one of the last things he did was to tell everyone that I was to get his truck. I will have this truck until it’s time to give it to a grandchild. It’s got some dents and dings that I am slowly repairing. I drive it a lot. I take it to car shows and local cruises. I’m retired now and have no need to drive everyday, but when I go somewhere, it’s almost always in the big red Dodge.
