1978 Ford F250 – Jack L.

My great grandfather passed away when I was only 4 and I never got to meet him. He was a Army Veteran of the 2nd World War. Near around the 2000’s or 90’s, he bought himself a 1978 F-250 4×4 with a 351M C6 from New York Mills, MN for his farm and for the winters because he needed a 4×4. My great aunts and uncles remember him driving that thing around all the time. Around 2014, he passed of age. But the truck sat in the barn since and became a farm truck shortly after he passed and sat since 2014. And then around 2024, my father told me we have a ’78 laying in WI to go pick up for 100$ so we went and bought it. Uncle told me the motor was locked up. He was wrong got the motor running and tuned it up. Put new timing set and cooling system in with some help from LMC, some very nice interior pieces and accessories. I thought I’d share my story on how I got my ’78 running and hope it inspires this generation to keep these rigs around.
