My dad bought this suburban brand new in 1978. Since then, we've made so many memories as a family. Now, for the past 25 years, I've been holding on to it. I drove it for 10 years then it sat in my garage. My dad has no idea that I still have it. I'm on the process of getting it back on the road and surprising my dad.

In 1986 I ordered a new GMC suburban with every available option at the time, except rear a/c. I took delivery in 1987, along with my new daughter, Haylee. I was a river guide at the time, and living in oregon I didn't feel rear a/c was necessary because my fishing gear would take up nearly 2/3 of the back area. OBS Suburban K2500 Traded my 97 Camaro to my buddy Willie for this 97 suburban 2500 with the 7.4L 454 big block which was none stock besides the after market wheels and tires. It’s now been 8 years me and this old gal have been together. She’s quite the money pit but the wife and I just love her and will never part ways!with this truck. Rescue Mission Father, son, and brother rescue mission. We rescued a 1961 Chevy Suburban with a factory 4x4, original straight 6 with 4 speed transmission. My grandfather's friend had the suburban and it had been sitting in his field for 20 years. After four months of owning it, a father and son and brother build got it running and moving on its own. 4x4 Original So purchase a 1961 Chevy suburban from my grandparents friends. The truck was sitting for 20 years in a field. Its rusty but has potential. It will need floor pans, rockers, both front fenders, and some quarter panel work. I will be getting all new metal from LMC Truck. This 1961 Chevy suburban 4x4 original is very rare. Atomic Suburban This 3/4 ton, 4 speed, 4x4 GMC Suburban was 1 of 10 special orders by Atomic Energy of Canada in 1969. It was used to collect samples from the bush around the Atomic Energy plant in Pinawa, Manitoba, Canada. These samples were then tested for radiation and it held this role until the 1990's when it was sold to a civilian.
