I was 22 when me and my Dad went to Bob Davidson Ford and bought my first new vehicle, a F150 XLT 4×4 short bed. I ordered each item and my Dad agreed to cosign only after telling me I had to sell my motorcycle. He sold it the next day. I waited about 4 months for my ’83. I dated my wife in the ’83 and drove away from church in it. 2 kids later, my wife drove the ’83 with car seats in front, and I rode in the bed. I sold the ’83 for an extended cab after 12 years. I found the ’83 in 2015 on the side of road, no tags and rusted pretty bad, but still running. It still had the order sheet and loan documents me and my Dad signed in the glove compartment. I got her home again and with help of some friends, Horton and Eddie, we took her all apart and put her back together. Rebuilt the motor and beautiful new original paint matching. I tried to save all I could without being stupid. Me and Robin are taking rides again in the ’83 Ford XLT 4×4 short bed, 40 years later, now with grandkids in the bed 🙂. Ed.
